About Us

For many Ethiopians living abroad, the hardest problem is not the situation itself, it is not knowing how to reach help when it matters most.

This is especially true for Ethiopian women working in Arab countries, where language barriers, unfamiliar systems, and restricted access make support difficult to reach.

In critical moments, people do not need more options. They need one clear way through.

The Problem

Most telemedicine platforms are built for structured environments, not real migrant conditions.

They depend on processes that fail in practice:

For many migrants, these conditions simply do not exist. Support may be available, but when it matters most, it is not reachable.

  • Verification-heavy onboarding
  • Booking-based access
  • Payment dependency
  • Assumed system familiarity

The Solution

This system removes those barriers entirely.

The system adapts to the user, not the other way around.

  • No onboarding — immediate access
  • No scheduling — instant connection
  • No payment — core support is free
  • No system knowledge required

What We Do

Developed by the Ethiopian Migrant Health Initiative (EMHI), an early-stage non-profit initiative in formation, this platform provides:

No registration. No payment. No complex steps. Just direct access to support.

EMHI is currently operating in a pilot phase with a small network of trained professionals, with capacity managed to maintain response quality.

  • Immediate connection to trained professionals
  • Confidential, one-to-one support
  • Priority handling for urgent situations

How It Works

Urgent cases are handled first.

  1. Select the type of support
  2. Get routed to the fastest available platform
  3. Your request is activated and prioritized
  4. A professional responds within defined time targets

Platform Experience

Routing is based on speed and reliability, not user guesswork.

  • Telegram — fastest connection, immediate activation
  • WhatsApp — standard response (after message)
  • IMO — limited fallback

Performance Approach

Response times are monitored and managed. During peak demand, response times may vary, but urgent cases are always prioritized.

  • Immediate routing (no delay)
  • Priority handling for urgent cases
  • Fast response targets (typically within minutes on Telegram)
  • Zero onboarding friction

Trust & Safety

  • Trained professionals
  • Confidential interactions
  • Controlled assignment system
  • Performance is monitored

Sustainability

EMHI is designed to remain free and accessible to users.

The platform is currently supported through early contributions and donor support, with a structured path toward:

  • Institutional partnerships (NGOs, embassies)
  • Government and international contracts
  • Optional value-added services (while keeping core access free)

Vision

To ensure that any Ethiopian, especially those in restrictive or unfamiliar environments, can reach support immediately, without barriers or delay.

Mission

To deliver fast, accessible, and priority-based support by:

  • Removing language, payment, and navigation barriers
  • Providing direct access without registration
  • Using the fastest communication channels
  • Prioritizing urgent situations in real time
  • Maintaining accountability in response delivery
